Nainaimo is a city and ferry port in British Columbia, on the east coast of Vancouver Island. At the centre of the city, the Nanaimo Museum displays exhibits on the city’s industries and indigenous peoples.
Haitao Yuan Nanaimo Director
Haitao is a Grade 11 student from Dover Bay Secondary. He is looking forward to meeting new people and helping out the community as the Nanaimo District Director and the project director. Outside of school, Haitao can be seen tinkering with technology, practicing martial arts, and eating excessive amounts of dairy. Haitao is excited to work with Adopt Our Community and to make a difference in his community!
Emily Sloan Nanaimo CDirector
Emily Sloan is a Grade 11 student at Dover Bay Secondary School in Nanaimo, British Columbia. She is honoured and excited to be the Co District Director for the Nanaimo District. Through her involvement with Adopt Our Community, Emily hopes to make a meaningful difference by supporting local initiatives and helping improve the spaces around her. She’s committed to building a stronger, cleaner community and continues to grow as a thoughtful leader and active volunteer. In her free time, Emily enjoys baking desserts and staying active through running.
