ADOPT THE EARTH
May 2025 - Nanaimo Park Cleanup
Even though it rained, Nanaimo members worked hard and collected over 40 pounds of trash at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park!
May 2025 - Richmond Park Cleanup
Richmond members completed a cleanup at Garden City Park, collecting approximately 20 pounds of litter.
May 2025 - Tri-Cities Park Cleanup
Tri-cities members collected over 20 pounds of waste during their cleanup at Town Center Park.
June 2025 - Mississauga Park Cleanup
Mississauga members held a park cleanup at Fairwind Park. Volunteers worked hard to collect around 40 pounds of trash.
April 2025
Earth Week Clothing Drive
Alongside Earth Week, the Victoria District held a clothing drive from April 15th to April 23rd. They were able to collect and donate over 50lbs of clothes to the Women in Need Community Cooperative. The project was not only able to reduce textile waste but also help those in need.

Willows Beach Cleanup
The Victoria District organized a beach cleanup at Willows Beach on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This cleanup prevented trash from polluting and affecting the local beaches in the area. They ended the afternoon with one bag of trash from the beach area and surrounding sidewalks, which was sorted and discarded appropriately.

BC Feed the Kids Fundraiser: Nanaimo
In support of BC Feed the Kids, the Nanaimo District held a bottle drive over the course of 3 days from January 10th to January 12th. Members went door-to-door and collected bottles on Friday and Saturday, and sorted them at the local recycling depot on Sunday. Altogether, they not only raised $330.20 for BC Feed the Kids but also recycled thousands of bottles and cans!

BC Feed the Kids Fundraiser: Vancouver
Vancouver District members held a Krispy Kreme Donut Sale on December 31st, the last day of 2024. They sold 25 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts in front of Scotia Bank at 1576 W 41st Ave. They contributed to the event by preparing the donuts and promoting them to passengers looking for desserts for the new year. All revenue will be donated to BC Feed the Kids to help children access the food and supplies they need.

Halloween Photobooth for Hunger
The Victoria District set up a photobooth for a local school’s Halloween Dance. This event raised funds for the hungry and homeless while also giving students a lasting memory. Through their work and advertising, they raised $80 in one night by selling photo services and Polaroids, which was donated to The Mustard Seed Food Bank. This impacted the school community they hosted the event in and the broader community through the money they donated.

Jericho Beach Park Clean-up
Vancouver District members held a clean-up at Jericho Beach Park on November 30th. The clean-up inspired gratitude among members toward the people and sanitation workers who keep their community clean and tidy. Members were enthusiastic to devote their time and energy to helping their community become cleaner!

Minor Events
Santa's Breakfast
Vancouver District | December 9, 2018
AOC members of the Vancouver District volunteered at the Breakfast with Santa event at the West Point Grey Community Centre. The volunteers contributed to the event by making and serving refreshments, guiding the guests, singing Christmas carols, bonding with the children, and cleaning up after the event.

Flea Market
Burnaby District | January 31, 2019
AOC members of the Burnaby district held a flea market at Moscrop Secondary School. All the proceeds from the event were donated to Wounded Warriors Canada, a program that supports Canada’s ill and injured soldiers, to honor and help these brave warriors who fought on behalf of Canda in war.

SPCA Dinner
Tri-Cities District | April 26, 2019
AOC members of the Tri-city District volunteered at a local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals dinner fundraiser organized by the district director. The volunteers contributed to the event by welcoming and guiding the guests, making and serving light refreshments, and managing the auction.

Climate Strike
Vancouver District | September 27, 2019
AOC members of the Vancouver District participated in the Global Climate Strike on September 27th, along with 120k others who participated in the movement. As self-aware, passionate, and progressive teenagers, AOC members loved being part of a movement that calls attention to the biggest issue of our time.

Marpole Park Cleanup
Vancouver District | July 31, 2020
AOC members met at Marpole Park to help clean up the park and surrounding areas. Members brought garbage bags, tongs, and other protective equipment. Vancouver is known for its nature and wildlife, and we want to do everything we can to protect the beauty!

Adopt A Park Program
Nanaimo District | September 17, 2021
AOC members met with the Recreation Coordinator of the City of Nanaimo to talk about joining the Adopt-A-Park Program. AOC Nanaimo has adopted May Bennet Richards Park and Groveland Gyro Park. We cannot wait to go through with this program!!

Community Building Conference
Nanaimo District | April 10, 2022
AOC Vice President Yichen Li attended a Community Building Conference to make a presentation to 100+ community members of all ages! Similar conferences are happening all around the world and we hope to contribute to this global effort to inspire positive change!
