With the arrival of flu season, Nanaimo District members made thank-you cards for local healthcare workers on November 14th. Overall, they created 20 cards from scratch. The cards were delivered to the Wallace Street Medical Clinic on November 19th.

Surrey members held a project with Bak'd Cookies on November 7th to raise funds for BC Feed the Kids, an organization that takes action on the youth food crisis by helping to feed children in BC communities who are less fortunate. Four cookie flavours were sold: The OG, Birthday Cake, Matcha Latte, and Cookies N Creme. They raised $164 in profits for BC Feed the Kids. Huge thanks to everyone who supported the fundraiser by buying cookies!

In honour of Remembrance Day, the Richmond District collaborated with multiple Richmond school clubs to make handmade cards to thank and honour the members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Unit 284 and Royal Canadian Legion Unit 291. Made throughout late October and early November, these cards were a small way to show our appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

Richmond volunteers came together to help keep Minoru Park clean on July 12, picking up around 60 pounds of trash! Big thank you to all the volunteers and the City of Richmond for providing cleanup equipment.

Mississauga members held a park cleanup at Fairwind Park. Volunteers worked hard to collect around 40 pounds of trash.

Tri-cities members collected over 20 pounds of waste during their cleanup at Town Center Park.

Richmond members completed a cleanup at Garden City Park, collecting approximately 20 pounds of litter.

AOC members delivered over 150 sandwiches to disadvantaged communities and shelters including East Hastings in downtown Vancouver, downtown Coquitlam, and Guildford Shelter in Surrey.

Even though it rained, Nanaimo members worked hard and collected over 40 pounds of trash at May Richards Bennett Pioneer Park!

On June 16th, members of the Nanaimo District held a bookmark-making session to support their local library. In total, they created 84 handmade bookmarks to donate, each with either inspiring messages or beautiful hand-drawn designs.

The Victoria District crafted and donated 100 handmade bookmarks to four major branches of the Greater Victoria Public Library to inspire the community to read and appreciate youth artists.

Alongside Earth Week, the Victoria District held a clothing drive from April 15th to April 23rd. They were able to collect and donate over 50lbs of clothes to the Women in Need Community Cooperative. The project was not only able to reduce textile waste but also help those in need.

The Victoria District organized a beach cleanup at Willows Beach on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This cleanup prevented trash from polluting and affecting the local beaches in the area. They ended the afternoon with one bag of trash from the beach area and surrounding sidewalks, which was sorted and discarded appropriately.

In support of BC Feed the Kids, the Nanaimo District held a bottle drive over the course of 3 days from January 10th to January 12th. Members went door-to-door and collected bottles on Friday and Saturday, and sorted them at the local recycling depot on Sunday. Altogether, they not only raised $330.20 for BC Feed the Kids but also recycled thousands of bottles and cans!

Vancouver District members held a Krispy Kreme Donut Sale on December 31st, the last day of 2024. They sold 25 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts in front of Scotia Bank at 1576 W 41st Ave. They contributed to the event by preparing the donuts and promoting them to passengers looking for desserts for the new year. All revenue will be donated to BC Feed the Kids to help children access the food and supplies they need.

Vancouver AOC members held a fundraiser selling Krispy Kreme Donuts at the Brighouse Skytrain station, regardless of the rain on October 16th. Overall, they sold 45 dozen donuts and raised $200 in funds!

The Victoria District set up a photobooth for a local school’s Halloween Dance. This event raised funds for the hungry and homeless while also giving students a lasting memory. Through their work and advertising, they raised $80 in one night by selling photo services and Polaroids, which was donated to The Mustard Seed Food Bank. This impacted the school community they hosted the event in and the broader community through the money they donated.

Vancouver District members held a clean-up at Jericho Beach Park on November 30th. The clean-up inspired gratitude among members toward the people and sanitation workers who keep their community clean and tidy. Members were enthusiastic to devote their time and energy to helping their community become cleaner!
